My Thoughts

Wow!! With all the hype of sim racing games like Project Cars, IRacing, RFactor 2, Assetto Corsa this ones comes from left field with a huge surprise. Grid AutoSports is hitting it out of the park with the variety of cars and tracks. It's coming with 22 locations with combined route list of 100!

Grid Autosports is not promissing to be a full blown sim racing experience, but definatley farther to the sim side then before without the car always trying to kill you. Sounds like a good compromise so I can't wait to play it next month. 

It hits our living rooms June 27th on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. No PS4 or Xbox One yet, but has plans for next gen consoles

Project CARS - The Ultimate Driver Journey

Check out the latest video in Project Cars. This sim racing adventure looks to be one of the most promising racing games to date. It has the full spectrum of car classes like, F1 style, GT, Sport, exotics you name it. Along with beautiful environments with weather effects and night racing. From what I have seen and heard the physics are up to par and I can not wait to take this game for a spin.

KartSim Steam Greenlight Teaser

Talk about a boat load of fun! This is what I been looking for. KartSim has received the green light on Steam so go and vote for it to happen. This Sim looks fantastic and offers great alternative to just racing bikes and exotic cars. Racing at it's purist form!

KartSim is a multiplayer kart racing game with
sandbox stunt driving and serious racing game modes.
These karts up to speeds of 160km/h, powered by 45hp engines. You will be able to create, customise and build an exclusive team with your friends and make your own custom liveries, helmets and team accessories.

Walk anywhere around the track in between races, and show off your avatar, kart and team to other players. If you never walked a track before a race it is actually helpful to learn about the track surface and lay out a game plan for the fastest laps.

KartSim has real kart physics engine to simulate the flex of the chassis which if your not careful you could end up with a bent frame and run your race. KartSim is set to launch with 5 laser scanned tracks, 5 different kart classes, AI and Multiplayer with more content to be added during Early Access.

rFactor2 w/ Nissan GTR, GoPro Hero 3 Black edition in the dark!

Just messing around playing some rFactor 2 and trying out my GoPro Hero 3+Black edition at night time with the lights out. Good to see that the GoPro studio that is free to download works really well getting out the noisy visuals that get recorded with night time recordings.

rFactor 2 is just a fun game that keeps bringing me back to it. The handling of the cars, the choice of race cars, the tracks, Karts, custom setups and more. This game just rocks! If you are like me and love Forza Motorsports and Gran Turismo you will also love playing rFactor 2. I play IRacing for the online competition mostly in all the season challenges I have the time for. But when I want to kick back, relax and not worry about points lead, off track deductions, pissing off other racers I just fire up some single player rFactor 2 and have a blast!

AC Official release 0.8.5 Update

Looks like the Assetto Corsa team is as always hard at work with more updated releases.
Check out what this new release 0.8.5 brings.

Test Drive of Assetto Corsa with Pagani Huayra

Oh this car is sexy! Super fast and fun to drive in Assetto Corsa. Really enjoy the handling and the sounds this car makes. When looking at the interior of the car it wraps you in carbon fiber really making it feel like the race car it is. The FPS is a little off in the video, but trust me it hauls the mail in!

Taking the Ferrari 312T for a Sunday drive in Assetto Corsa

What a fun old F1 car to drive. This is pure raw power at its finest! It's a bit tricky to keep on the track at time as the power kicks in so aggressively as you can see.

rFactor 2 Junior Kart Addition!

Sweet!!! I can't wait to get some time in to playing with this new version. I've been looking for a fun cart racing game lately and low and behold rFactor2 added to their expansive lineup of cool vehicles you would want to drive.

This addition of Karts and hopefully more to come include the Junior and Kart F1. The junior karts produce 20hp and weighing only 150kg with the driver! These carts require fast reflexes and you need to keep them in the power band to maintain momentum thru the curves. The engine makes peak power around 9000 RPM and redlines at 12000 RPM, but you don't want to drop under 6000 RPM so to stay in the sweet spot.

The Kart F1 however the engine produces peak torque and hp at much higher RPM's. Peak torque is around 12000 RPM with peak HP around 13500 RPM and holds good power to 15,500 RPM. Gearing is important to maximize performance.
