Assetto Corsa at Barbagallo Raceway

So I'm a little late to modding with Assetto Corsa I admit that. It's not like I didn't try mods before on sims it's just the few I tried didn't warrant space on my hard drive. We'll I finally decided to try out some track mods from AC Mods. As you probably recognize Assetto Corsa is lacking in tracks so I downloaded a few. Well, Ok like 17 of them :)

Check out this 4 lap run at Barbagallo Raceway in western Australia. This track is known for the V8 Supercar races with it's short and really fast layout with some awesome elevation changes. It's really a blast to drive on. I can't wait to try more cars on this track.

For more cool mods from AC Mods check it out HERE and a direct link to this track Barbagallo Raceway

It seems with all the updates in Assetto Corsa they really have got the AI down allot better. It's extremely fun and exciting to race more then ever before.
This race is at Silverstone running version 1.1 in career mode with the Ferrari 599XX EVO.

If you don't have AC in your roster of sim racing titles then your simply missing out!

Dirt 3 Complete Edition Out

Finally Dirt 3 Complete Edition is out on Steam and for Free for those that already own Dirt 3. Get it on STEAM . If you don't own Dirt 3 the Complete Edition will cost $23.99. It came as a little surprise to most on Steam. I logged on and noticed it in my Library for a free download. Nice April fools present!
So why get it? Well it runs smoother with solid FPS and comes with all the DLC every released all in one release. Plus if your like me I couldn't make it thru a game without the original Dirt 3 crashing on me which was really a downer. Now I can make it through a game without crashing so YES!! Winner!!

Now the downside for us that like to use our force feedback wheels from Fanatec, Logitech, Thrustmaster and the like, the game doesn't work with those or most force feedback wheels! There is a big complaint list on Steam for this. Well that's to say it works if you don't mind the wheel pulling to the right as if you have a flat front right tire. Sooooo Yeahhh.

Needless to say it's not ready to review the new (incomplete) Complete Edition at least not with my wheel and I don't care to play racing games without using my wheel. So if you have a wheel and don't already own Dirt 3 Complete Edition I would hold off until a patch comes. For all those that use the gamepads well your good to go! Hopefully the devs will HOTFIX this quickly.

Until next time. See Ya on the Track!

Announcing iRacing Mobile!

What? IRacingMobile? What's that?
Well yes it seems that iRacing will be coming to your phone in 2016! Sounds really exciting and surly to give games like GTRacing 2 or Real Racing 3 a run for their money. I'm pretty excited to here about this and can't wait to buy it.

I believe this will help blow iRacing up and draw people into the sim world and most likely bring customer to the PC version of iRacing. Way to go guys!!

Just How Awesome is Fanatec!

I absolutely love my Fanatec SQ shifter! It has to be the best bang for your buck on the market today. I mean really you can not go wrong with this shifter.

So what about the new version 1.5? Well basically the new version comes with updated electronics and hall sensor for a more rugged design making setting up the shifter with your Fanatec wheel even easier and improving shifts or missed shifts from the new hall sensor. I'm sure there is more to it what is being told to the consumer, but at the end of the day it's an improved design that looks and functions the same as the first version.
If you already have version 1 and it's working fine don't worry you are not missing anything with v1.5 from what I can tell.

So here is the great part though! If you own Version 1 and it fails on you (which BTW Fanatec extended the 1 year warranty to 2 years for version 1 customers) you can send it in and Fanatec will update your shifter to v1.5 for free! Soooo I just happened to have a faulty shifter in my hands. It appears that the return spring that would recenter the shifter handle in sequential mode broke. I notified Fanatec and sent some pictures in which Fanatec service dept sent me information to send it back. Now 2 weeks later I get my shifter, but wait! It's not my shifter. It happened to be a brand new shifter version 1.5. Sweet!!!

So what I noticed between the version 1 and version 1.5 is in the included video below. Check it out! and if you want quality sim gear from a company that truly seems to care click on one of my side Fanatec banners and buy something. It also helps out the blog

Thanks. See ya on the track!

Fanatec on PS4 and XboxOne!

A long time coming it would seem, but very exciting news for console owners wanting to use their PC version Clubsport V1 or V2 wheel bases on PS4 and Xbox One. I personally would enjoy using my Fanatec CSW V1 on Xbox One playing Forza Horizon and Forza 5 and now upcoming Forza 6.

Currently the CSW wheels are only compatible to PS3 and PC, but now Fanatec teamed up with Slightly Mad Studios and announced the CSW wheelbase will work with Project Cars on all 3 platforms PC, PS4 and Xbox One. This is awesome news and no better time to introduce this than right before Project Cars gets released. Keep in mind that the CSW Wheel with any CSW rim will work on PS4 and you will not even have to boot the CSW into PS4 mode like you used to do with older Fanatec wheel bases.

Now the Xbox One version will still require an official Xbox One rim that is coming very soon from Fanatec. Looks like I’ll have to buy a Xbox One again to play Forza games later this year along with a Fanatic Xbox One rim. I’ll stick with Project Cars on Steam for now since it’s already pre-ordered. I may pick up the PS4 version to be able to compare the two. Very Exciting news! For us Fanatec owners this is just added value to the wheels we already own!

Here is a list on the Fanatec compatible gear for PS4, XBOX ONE & PC

                                                                         Below is direct quotes.

"Gamers have been enjoying the solid build quality, integrated technology, and pure driving sensation of these fantastic products for a while now on PC and previous-generation platforms but through a continued collaboration with the team at Fanatec players are now going to be able to use the wheels they already own or are thinking of purchasing with Project CARS via an update on day one.”

“The quality of the input devices play an important role in the immersion factor of a simulation
and especially our ClubSport series delivers an automotive quality and experience level. We are now bringing this level to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and Project CARS is the perfect title to make best use of our technology. This combination is a new milestone on gaming consoles.” (Thomas Jackermeier, CEO Endor AG / Fanatec)
